The Order of 25 May 2016 relates to the prevention of accident risks within ICPEs subject to authorisation. More specifically, it addresses the issue of solar energy in classified facilities. This Order sets out the requirements, in terms of installation and commissioning, applicable to PV systems regardless of their location (on the façade, roof or ground).
For new facilities, these requirements came into force on 1 July. For existing facilities, the standards were gradually implemented over a period up to 1 July 2018. Not all ICPEs are subject to these modifications. Exceptions apply to classified facilities covered by ICPE nomenclature sections 2101 to 2150 and 3660 and facilities equipped with systems shown by analysis to have no impact on the classified facility.
This Order has several objectives:
Two important subjects in the scope of ICPEs are the explosive atmosphere issue and the intervention of the fire and rescue services. The operator is responsible for setting out the scope within which the fire and rescue services can intervene. This can therefore have a direct impact on the updating of your site contingency plan.
